Sideboard in teak by Karl-Erik Ekselius for JOC, Sweden, 1960s

25 000 kr

This exclusive teak sideboard is designed by Karl-Erik Ekselius for JOC.

The furniture is a prime example of Swedish modernism – where form and function meet in perfect balance – and stands out through its harmonious design and high quality craftsmanship.

Made of beautiful solid teak and teak veneer, the sideboard displays impressive symmetry in the front's four panel doors, whose recessed handles and sculpted shape give the furniture a distinct architectural expression. The well-proportioned construction rests on four solid legs that lift the furniture visually and give it an airy impression.

Inside, the furniture offers generous storage: behind the doors are seven elegant drawers with recessed corners for cutlery, napkins or documents, as well as shelf sections with plenty of space for china, books or media equipment. Everything is carefully crafted with period precision.

The sideboard is in very good vintage condition with only minor signs of wear on the top, which is expected for an original from this era. It is both practical and stylish furniture that fits equally well in the dining room as in the living room, and works excellently as a media unit or as a shelf under a work of art.
